Model Writing 🙂

For our staff meeting this Friday, we will be showing examples of modeled and shared writing.  I have seen some excellent examples in your classrooms of modeled writing and will be asking one or two of you to share what you do.  Also, please come prepared to work with your grade level during a portion of the meeting on the following task:

Based on a genre of writing that you are planning to start teaching soon (before or after fall break) bring together all of the mentor texts and excerpts from authors that are excellent models of the genre of writing that you and your students will be exploring.  Our goal will be for you together  a collection of great models for your students to see and hear as you introduce this writing genre.
