Everyone had done a great job developing authentic assessments for Language Arts this quarter. We are in the midst of a learning process that will continue all year-long. Based on our work thus far, I believe we should take the following course for 2nd quarter:
Develop 2 ELA assessments for each quarter.
Create a rubric to score the assessments using a 4 point scale (3 = proficient)
Create your assessment at the beginning of the unit of study so that you can develop your instruction to match the assessment.
Begin this process by developing this first assessment during your next collaboration (Sep 12, 13, or 14).
Paper or electronic copies of the assessments should be sent to me as well as a class list of your results with their rubric score (1-4)
