PLN Plans

Summer Vacation has arrived and I hope you  are planning many engaging activities with family and friends.  On top of those family adventures, summer affords some time to build your professional knowledge and ability at a more relaxed pace.   With that in mind, here is a list of ideas for you to consider for some professional growth anytime, anywhere.

Old Fashion Book Reading: I’m looking to read Tony Wagner’s new book Creating Innovators.  What’s on your reading list this summer?

Haven’t got a clue.  Check out this GoogleDoc from Teaching With Soul

Blogs and Internet Resources

Larry Ferlazzo – This high school teacher from Sacramento must be a vampire, because he is constantly updating his blog with great resources.  Clearly, he never sleeps.

Top Ten Educational Blogs – Here Larry highlights the Top Ten educational blogs

Edutopia – Great site with a variety of resources including resources for Project Based Learning

Twitter – Seriously now, this is the place I go more than ever to get ideas for school.  Here is a list of the most popular educational twitter handles.

Since we have so many runners and bike riders, and hikers you might want to start listening to podcasts during those invigorating workouts.  From Itunes U, I recommend Harvard Edcast.  And, if you’re in the mood for getting some clear thinking on a range of topics, take a listen to EconTalk with Russ Roberts from George Mason University.

Please share your PLN ideas for this summer.
