This Friday’s staff meeting will be presented jointly by teacher leaders and your trusty administration. The purpose of the meeting is to model a whole class discourse strategy to gain and maintain student attention. Many of the ideas are not novel, but still powerful when done consistently and practiced collaboratively. You will hear from several of your colleagues who have given attention to implementing these strategies with fidelity and seen positive impact on their students’ ability to listen attentively and articulate their thinking.
In the spirit of the Flipped Classroom, the strategy we will be modeling and discussing Friday is provided here for those of you who would like to review it ahead of time.
